Father Emery de Gaál

Father Emery de Gaál was born in Chicago but spent most of his life in Hungary and Bavaria. A priest of the Diocese of Eichstätt, Germany, Father de Gaál served in parishes and taught theology before Cardinal Francis George, OMI, called him to teach dogmatic theology at the University of St. Mary of the Lake/Mundelein Seminary. His areas of concentration are Medieval thought and Ressourcement theology; especially Anselm studies (The Art of Equanimity, 2000), Ratzinger studies (<em>The Theology of Pope Benedict XVI</em>, 2010; <em>O Lord, I seek Your Countenance</em>, 2018), and Mariology. Father de Gaál has published in five languages and regularly delivers papers at international theological or philosophical conferences.
