Adoremus Submission Guidelines

Purpose and Principles

Adoremus Bulletin welcomes articles that contribute to the renewal of the Sacred Liturgy. Adoremus seeks to help priests celebrate the Church’s rites more authentically and the faithful to pray more intelligently and fruitfully. Articles should harmonize with the Principles of Adoremus.

While not an academic publication, Adoremus seeks to publish intelligent, substantial, and articulate articles that draw on the intellectual tradition of the Church, communicated for a broad readership.

Potential authors are also encouraged to inquire with the editor regarding proposed topics for articles. A positive response regarding the viability of a topic is not a guarantee that the subsequent submission will be published.

Length

Adoremus accepts longer submissions (+/- 2000 words), usually published in the print Bulletin, and shorter entries (+/- 1000 words) for its e-newsletter, AB Insight. Entries exceeding these word counts will be considered based on the merit of the content. Adoremus is also open to authors proposing a series of related entries.

Book Reviews

Book reviews (+/- 2000 words) are desired for books touching on areas related to the Church’s liturgy. Please contact the editor for a list of books received or to propose a book review.

Format

Single spaced, 12-point, Times New Roman font, 1-inch margins.

No block quotes.

Please include a 2-3 line author biography and physical mailing address.

Citations

For minimal references, parenthetical citations are preferred.

For more ample citations, please use endnotes (not footnotes), 10-point font, numbered using Arabic numerals.

Church documents and scriptural passages should always be cited parenthetically, not in footnotes.

Submitting

Submit manuscripts as a Word document to the editor, Mike Brummond, at [email protected]
