Duncan Stroik
Duncan G. Stroik, a practicing architect, author, and Professor of Architecture at the University of Notre Dame, is one of the foremost church architects in the English-speaking world and the acknowledged leader of a growing movement to return classical ideas of beauty and harmony to sacred architecture.
His built work includes Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity Chapel in Santa Paula, California, and the Shrine Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. Professor Stroik is also the author of The Church Building as a Sacred Place: Beauty, Transcendence, and the Eternal — reviewed in AB February 2013.
He is editor of the biannual journal Sacred Architecture, which he established in 1998. Online: sacredarchitecture.org.
