Cardinal Francis Arinze, prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments, blessed the offices of Adoremus and Women for Faith & Family on Saturday afternoon, November 11. He was accompanied by the Most Reverend Raymond Burke, Archbishop of St. Louis, who also participated in the prayer ceremony dedicating the organizations’ offices on Dale Avenue in St. Louis.

In his homily on the occasion, Cardinal Arinze stressed the importance of Catholic publications accepting the responsibility of giving readers accurate information about the Church and her teachings, and in faithfully transmitting the light of Christ’s truth. Concluding the office of prayers, the cardinal sprinkled each room with Holy water.

Following the dedication ceremony, he received a tribute in gratitude for his service to the Church, presented by Helen Hull Hitchcock, editor of Adoremus Bulletin, and president of Women for Faith & Family and editor of its quarterly magazine, Voices.

About forty people closely associated with the organizations attended the office blessing ceremony and the reception following.

Cardinal Arinze was in St. Louis to address the Gateway Liturgical Conference held November 9-11. (See his complete address in this issue.)

He also celebrated Mass at the Cathedral Basilica on Sunday.
